Thailand is rich in for planting area of over 4 million rai ( 1 rai = 1,600 square metres or 0.4 acre). Each year can produce 22 million tons of paddy. After this paddy is produced to approximately 10-12 million tons of rice, 5-6 million tons of rice is domestic consumption. 

          Nonglutinous and glutinous rice is main food for Thai people and is still the main energy of three fourth of overall food consumed for Thai people in each day. Both Nonglutinous and glutinous rice are classified as Oryza Sativa. Nonglutinous rice is normally bright grain before cooking. Glutinous rice is not glossy before cooking. However, glutinous rice is brighter than nonglutinous rice after cooking. The method for cooking glutinous rice is steaming. 

 

          Currently,for Thai, Lao, Thaiyai in Than State, Tainai in Assumpt State of India and in Sibsong Punna of China, glutinouse rice are favorite. It is accounted for over 10 percent of rice production over the world. 

          Jasmine Rice is Thai-Breeding rice and is originally grown here. Currently, it's referred as the most delicious rice in world. Thailand is achievable to export Khaow Hom Mali over 5 million annually.
