Measure one cup of rice and two and one-half cups of water into
a two quart sauce pan.*Bring to a boil, lower heat to a simmer,
cover and simmer for fifteen minutes. Remove from heat, let stand
for five minutes and then fluff with a fork and serve. Yield : About
four cups cooked rice.
(Quicker, easier, more consistent and better)
cook directly in your serving bowl. Add one cup of rice and two
and one-half cups of water to your serving bowl (non-metaric). If
rinsed then add two and one-fouth cups of water.* Place uncovered
bowl in the microwave oven for 15 - 20 minutes on high power (For
more than one cup of rice, use 20 minutes cooking time). Fluff with
a fork and serve. Yield : About four cups cooked rice.
*Optional : Add one teaspoon
of salt and one tablespoon of butter or margarine before cooking.
